Role Description

This is a full-time role for a Senior Litigation Associate Attorney. This position offers a highly skilled Senior Litigation Associate the opportunity to work closely with the firm's founder and Of Counsel on complex cases and contribute to the growth of a boutique law firm. The ideal candidate will be experienced in all phases of litigation, possess strong communication and negotiation skills, and be able to effectively manage a caseload while collaborating with team members. 

Responsibilities

Case Management:

  • Independently manage a caseload of complex litigation matters, from inception to resolution, under the guidance of partners. 

Litigation Practice:

  • Prepare for, conduct, and attend hearings, depositions, and draft pleadings, discovery, and motions, as well as mediations and trials/arbitrations. 

Legal Research & Analysis:

  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support litigation strategies and case preparation. 

Legal Document Preparation:

  • Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents with precision and attention to detail. 

Trial Preparation:

  • Assist with trial preparation, including witness preparation and exhibit organization. 

Discovery Management:

  • Manage discovery processes, including document production and interrogatories. 

Client Relations:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing regular updates and addressing their concerns. 

Teamwork:

  • Collaborate effectively with founder, of counsel, outside firms, paralegals, and other team members to develop and implement case strategies. 

Business Development:

  • Participate in networking and business development activities to grow the firm's client base. 

Qualifications

Education and Licensing:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. 
  • Active membership in the relevant state bar. 

Experience:

  • 5-8 years of litigation experience, preferably in a firm setting. 
  • Experience with complex cases, including trial preparation and courtroom experience. 
  • Ideally, specific business litigation experience (breach of contract, trade-secret, and securities law litigation preferred).

Skills:

  • Excellent legal research, analytical, and writing skills. 
  • Strong oral advocacy skills, with the ability to present arguments effectively in court. 
  • Experience with discovery, depositions, and drafting pleadings and motions. 

Other:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, legal research tools (Westlaw, LexisNexis), and case management software. 
  • Ability to manage multiple active cases with efficiency. 
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work independently. 
  • Strong communication and client interaction skills.
